Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.

Doctors remove live grenade from leg (Video)
April 22, 2008
A Colombian soldier's life was saved yesterday after a doctor removed a live grenade that was stuck in his leg.
The device became lodged in the soldier's leg after a fellow soldier accidentally fired a grenade rifle while they were on security detail at the presidential retreat home located in Cajica outside the capital.
Colombian President Alvaro Uribe was not in residence at the time.
After being taken to a local hospital the soldier was transported to Bogota and with anti-explosives experts standing by, the high-risk operation was performed by Dr Julian Ricardo Uribe in the parking lot of the military hospital.
The soldier, Alexander Guerrero was injured after a grenade was accidentally lodged in his right leg.
Four hours later the patient was transported to our emergency services at the military hospital with that explosive device in his leg.
The surgery took place at 11am, the patient was from Cajica, and the duration of the surgery was 17 minutes to extract the 40 milimetre MJL grenade," said Dr. Uribe.
Explosives experts took the grenade from the doctor and then destroyed it in a controlled explosion.
Doctors said the soldier would have to undergo reconstructive surgery.
