Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.
Amazing! Thank you. My daughter Reality Leigh Winner is yet another victim of this admin. Doing hard time for bringing the truth to light. #FreeRealityWinnerhttps://t.co/wU0sg3LeRs
Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign violations and tax fraud in 2018, began serving his sentence in May 2019 at the federal penitentiary in Otisville, New York.
He has been under house arrest since July over coronavirus concerns.
Military.com stated that Reality’s mother sent a Twitter message that said “Cohen has asked another attorney to look at the case and for opportunities to help.”

Doctors discover Sen. Kennedy has a Brain Tumor
May 20, 2008
Doctors say Massachusetts Senator Edward Kennedy has a brain tumor, a condition discovered after he had a seizure over the weekend.
Tests show a tumor in his left parietal-lobe. The usual course of treatment includes combinations of radiation and chemotherapy, but Kennedy's treatment will be decided after more tests.
Kennedy was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday after becoming ill following a walk with his dogs at his oceanfront home on Cape Cod.
Kennedy's office had said yesterday that the senator was not expected back at work this week.
His doctors said in a statement released to The Associated Press that he has had no further seizures, is in good spirits and is resting comfortably.
Statement from Dr. Lee Schwamm, Vice Chairman, Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Dr. Larry Ronan, Primary Care Physician, Massachusetts General Hospital:
"Over the course of the last several days, we've done a series of tests on Senator Kennedy to determine the cause of his seizure.
He has had no further seizures, remains in good overall condition, and is up and walking around the hospital.
Some of the tests we had performed were inconclusive, particularly in light of the fact that the Senator had severe narrowing of the left carotid artery and underwent surgery just 6 months ago.
However, preliminary results from a biopsy of the brain identified the cause of the seizure as a malignant glioma in the left parietal lobe.
The usual course of treatment includes combinations of various forms of radiation and chemotherapy.
Decisions regarding the best course of treatment for Senator Kennedy will be determined after further testing and analysis.
Senator Kennedy will remain at Massachusetts General Hospital for the next couple of days according to routine protocol. He remains in good spirits and full of energy."
Brain tumors are classified depending on the exact site of the tumor, the type of tissue involved, benign or malignant tendencies of the tumor, and other factors. Primary brain tumors can arise from the brain cells, the meninges (membranes around the brain), nerves, or glands.

Update :
While Sen. Edward Kennedy's family comes to grips with news he has a brain tumor, a neurologist from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center says the senator will face an uphill fight.
"Surgery alone... will not cure this cancer," said Dr. Michael Biber of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in an interview with R.D. Sahl. Biber, who is not affailiated with Kennedy's treatment team, said Kennedy's cancer will likely be treated with a combination of chemotherapy and radiation, with surgery a possibility depending on the tumor's location in the senator's left parietal lobe.
But Biber notes that gliomas are impossible to eradicate with surgery, which limits the long-term prognosis for Sen. Kennedy.
"(Biden’s) own chief of staff, Ron Klain, would say last year that it was pure luck, that they did ‘everything possible wrong’ (with H1N1). And we learned from that."
"There are estimates that by the end of the term of this administration, they will have lost more jobs than almost any other presidential administration."
That Rose Garden event — there's been a great deal of speculation about it — my wife Karen and I were there and honored to be there. Many of the people who were at that event, Susan, were actually tested for coronavirus, and it was an outdoor event, which all of our scientists r...
