Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.
Amazing! Thank you. My daughter Reality Leigh Winner is yet another victim of this admin. Doing hard time for bringing the truth to light. #FreeRealityWinnerhttps://t.co/wU0sg3LeRs
Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign violations and tax fraud in 2018, began serving his sentence in May 2019 at the federal penitentiary in Otisville, New York.
He has been under house arrest since July over coronavirus concerns.
Military.com stated that Reality’s mother sent a Twitter message that said “Cohen has asked another attorney to look at the case and for opportunities to help.”

Madonna and Guy Ritchie's separation - Is it for good ?
May 24, 2008
The news will come as no surprise to those who have followed the turbulent marriage of these two volatile individuals who fell in love but who came from different worlds. Now it seems Madonna, 49, one of the richest women in the music industry, has had enough of the constant arguing "about everything" with Guy.
Friends say the couple have been living virtually separate lives since the start of the year and have even divided their homes into his and hers quarters so they can avoid each other.
There are indications that Madonna is now planning to live in New York. She has owned a 6,000sq ft duplex apartment overlooking Central Park. Complete with gymnasium and beauty salon and is enlarging it to accommodate her children and staff.
She is planning a solo trip to New York next month ahead of her gruelling world tour and, apart from her 50th birthday celebrations, there appear to be no concrete plans to spend time with her husband.
After years of rowing and long periods apart, the couple are heading for a trial separation . . . albeit a very civilized one.
"She leaves for NY at the start of June and won’t be back until October. She has talked about the children going with her but she hasn’t mentioned Guy once."
Madonna will headline the Traverse City Film Festival in August thanks to event founder Michael Moore during this peroid. Documentary film maker Moore has nothing but praise for the pop superstar's documentary "I am Because We Are" about Aids orphans in Malawi.
Although Madonna insists she is planning to spend only some of her time in America, the move is being seen as a signal about where she is going to base herself for the next ten years.
"My husband did not turn out to be everything I imagined him to be...I wanted to end everything," she said.
"They’ve just drifted apart. It’s all very sad. But they are trying not to make a drama out of it, for the sake of their children and their careers."
"(Biden’s) own chief of staff, Ron Klain, would say last year that it was pure luck, that they did ‘everything possible wrong’ (with H1N1). And we learned from that."
"There are estimates that by the end of the term of this administration, they will have lost more jobs than almost any other presidential administration."
That Rose Garden event — there's been a great deal of speculation about it — my wife Karen and I were there and honored to be there. Many of the people who were at that event, Susan, were actually tested for coronavirus, and it was an outdoor event, which all of our scientists r...
