Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.
Amazing! Thank you. My daughter Reality Leigh Winner is yet another victim of this admin. Doing hard time for bringing the truth to light. #FreeRealityWinnerhttps://t.co/wU0sg3LeRs
Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign violations and tax fraud in 2018, began serving his sentence in May 2019 at the federal penitentiary in Otisville, New York.
He has been under house arrest since July over coronavirus concerns.
Military.com stated that Reality’s mother sent a Twitter message that said “Cohen has asked another attorney to look at the case and for opportunities to help.”

Naked Wowen Ride Thru London On HorseBack
May 20, 2008
A bunch of ladies have rode naked - yes, naked - through Hyde Park to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Support Center and celebrate the the DVD release of Vicky Jewson's movie Lady Godiva.
The ride, which took place at 11am on Monday, May 19, is the idea of young Oxford film director Vicky Jewson.
And she will be donating £5 to Maggie's Center Oxford for each rider who dares to bare all.
Miss Jewson, 22, from Boar's Hill, Oxford, said: "This will be a fantastic opportunity for women all over Britain to do something fun and outrageous in aid of charity.
"Maggie's Center is a place that anyone affected by cancer can turn to for help and support.
"Having naked Godiva's riding through London is a great way to raise awareness - and also to celebrate the release of Lady Godiva on DVD."
The naked ride will be led by Miss Jewson's sister Libby, 19, who plays Penny in the film Lady Godiva.
Although Libby didn't get naked in the film, she did at the premiere in January, when she rode naked on horseback through Oxford to bring a bit of saucy fun to the event.
She is now reprising the role to encourage as many people as possible to recreate Lady Godiva's historic ride in 1057.
Vicky Jewson's film Lady Godiva premiered on January 22 and the DVD will go on sale on the same day as the charity ride.
Up to 50 women bared their all, or stripped down to a slim pair of knickers, for a cancer charity supported by the film's director Vicky Jewson.
Among the naked riders was Oxford's 107.9 FM 'Girls Talk' presenter, Rosie Tratt, who gallantly volunteered to partake in the campaign. Rosie said: "I can't believe I actually did it. It was one of the most outrageous and exciting things I have ever done."
"(Biden’s) own chief of staff, Ron Klain, would say last year that it was pure luck, that they did ‘everything possible wrong’ (with H1N1). And we learned from that."
"There are estimates that by the end of the term of this administration, they will have lost more jobs than almost any other presidential administration."
That Rose Garden event — there's been a great deal of speculation about it — my wife Karen and I were there and honored to be there. Many of the people who were at that event, Susan, were actually tested for coronavirus, and it was an outdoor event, which all of our scientists r...
Now that is a way to ride "Bare Back" ...
It does look like great fun !
