Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.
Amazing! Thank you. My daughter Reality Leigh Winner is yet another victim of this admin. Doing hard time for bringing the truth to light. #FreeRealityWinnerhttps://t.co/wU0sg3LeRs
Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign violations and tax fraud in 2018, began serving his sentence in May 2019 at the federal penitentiary in Otisville, New York.
He has been under house arrest since July over coronavirus concerns.

Police Arrest Missing Girl Brooke Bennett's Uncle
June 29, 2008
State Police have arrested the last person to be seen with missing 12-year-old, Brooke Bennett.
Police say 42-year-old Michael Jacques is being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility, in Springfield, Sunday night, on sexual assault charges unrelated to Bennett's case. Jacques, who is Bennett's uncle, is being charged with aggravated sexual assault of a minor. Police uncovered evidence linking him to the alleged crime while investigating Bennett's disappearance.
Jacques is a registered sex offender; he was arrested and convicted of kidnapping and sexual assault in 1993. Police say that the new charges are not connected in any way to Bennett or her disappearance. Police do say, however, that the minor involved in the new charges is from Randolph.
Jacques and Bennett were seen on surveillance video at the Cumberland Farms convenience store in Randolph, on Wednesday morning. Bennett disappeared a short time later.
Two days ago, WCAX asked Brooke's father, Jim Bennett, whether he believed a family member was involved with Brooke's disappearance. He said, "I guess there's some question about the uncle, but I don't personally know him that well, so I can't say."
Jacques will be arraigned in Orange County District Court on Monday. He is being held on $100,000 bail. Aggravated sexual assault carries a sentence of ten-years-to-life in prison, and a fine of up to $50,000.
In order to stay focused on locating Brooke Bennett, personnel from the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations have been called to further investigate the sexual assault for which Jacques was arrested, police said. Jacques was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield and is scheduled to appear in Orange County District Court in Chelsea at 1 p.m. today.
