Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.

Hundreds in VT mourn Brooke Bennett death (Video)
July 02, 2008
A vigil scheduled for Brooke Bennett. The community turned into a memorial Wednesday night, after the 12-year-old's body was discovered.
Among the supporters that attended the vigil are family members of other missing children cases. Magi Bish, the mother of Molly Bish was in Randolph, Vermont to comfort the Bennett family.
Bish disappeared from her lifeguard post in 2000. Her remains were found three years ago in a wooded area.
Magi says that her trip to Vermont is a "trip of love". She says she has been in contact with the Bennett family over the phone, but says being there in person will be important.
Magi was looking forward to helping the Bennetts through this time, and knows she can give them the proper direction.
Hundreds gather to remember Brooke Bennett
Randolph, VT - Family and friends of Brooke Bennett had planned to gather Wednesday night to pray for her safe return. Instead they were left to mourn her death.
The community understandably in shock, as they remember a young girl who's life was cut short. More than 200 people gathered in the town center, to pray for Brooke and her family.
Gary Finch, Brooke's homeroom and math teacher at Randolph Union High School, said Brooke was a very energetic and enthusiastic learner. He said she was always volunteering in class. There were others who did not know Brooke, all that well, but said they wanted to be there all the same.
Brooke's family was clearly scared and saddened, but were comforted by the Bish family, whose daughter went missing eight years ago.
