Billie Winner-Davis, Reality Winner's mother, told Business Insider on Tuesday that President Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, is attempting legal representation to aid the former Air Force language analyst contractor and Kingsville native Reality Winner with her case.
Winner pleaded guilty in 2018 to leaking classified National Security Agency information on Russia's alleged efforts to interfere with the 2016 election. She was found guilty of violating the U.S. Espionage Act and sentenced to five years in prison at the Federal Medical Center-Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2016 following her separation from six years of active duty, Winner was hired by Pluribus International Corporation under an NSA contract to work out of Fort Gordon, Georgia.
According to ABC News, Winner printed a classified report detailing how Russian hackers allegedly “executed cyber espionage operations” on local election systems and mailed the documents to The Intercept.
She was arrested on June 3, 2017.
Amazing! Thank you. My daughter Reality Leigh Winner is yet another victim of this admin. Doing hard time for bringing the truth to light. #FreeRealityWinnerhttps://t.co/wU0sg3LeRs
Michael Cohen, who pleaded guilty to campaign violations and tax fraud in 2018, began serving his sentence in May 2019 at the federal penitentiary in Otisville, New York.
He has been under house arrest since July over coronavirus concerns.
Military.com stated that Reality’s mother sent a Twitter message that said “Cohen has asked another attorney to look at the case and for opportunities to help.”

TOUCHING ME, TOUCHING YOU
June 15, 2020
Human touch is a basic part of our culture and development. positive human touch imparts feelings of warmth, safety, and security. Research was shown that babies denied physical touch fail to thrive. Babies born addicted to drugs thrive much better with human contact such as cuddling, rocking, and gentle massage. (the actual research studies are beyond the scope of this article). This need for physical contact doesn’t disappear as we grow and mature.
Handshakes, hugs, and kisses can and do convey different feelings and social messages in different contexts. However, regardless of context, these activities are still pretty risky. Social scientists are proposing that we think of these “new norms” as physical distancing instead of social distancing. That's one helluva mental gymnastic! What about physical touch? Have you ever gone to the zoo or observed primates in their natural habitat? They are constantly touching themselves and each other! Are we so different? We do touch ourselves a lot. (think: touching your face, rubbing, fiddling with your hair). We touch others a lot, too. (think: pat on back, a touch on an arm, greeting and parting hugs and handshakes). Granted. we don’t fling our feces at one another...but now that I think about it, the words we fling at one another are often full of shi...feces.
In pre- pandemic days there were already concerns about the proliferation of digital communication and the negative impact on society. Now, in the midst of the pandemic, digital communication is encouraged for activities ranging from doctor visits to cyber-sex. (what the hell is that, anyway?) In cyber space you can watch IT, you can fantasize about IT, you can talk about IT....but you can NOT touch him or her, or them (Damn, that’s no fun at all)!!
Oh yeah, baby, I love gazing into your beautiful eyes over Skype. But what I really want is to reach out and touch, hold, and feel you, ....well you can imagine the next verse to that song...or can you?? Imagination might be a temporary substitute, but after this lockdown, what a lot of folks will want (especially the singles) is to practice their touching, feeling skills. As living beings we want to create little miniatures of ourselves, but the nitty gritty truth of it is that we absolutely love DOING IT. Miniatures or not!
I’m Just Thinking that few of us are psychologically equipped to forego physical contact. In states that have recently loosened restrictions, adults are heading to the beaches, restaurants, and other crowded venues. Of course, everyone will be keeping at least 6 feet apart and wearing masks. That myth will be destroyed as soon as someone figures out that you simply cannot DO IT from that distance, and that masks touching masks is just yuckie!! Unfortunately, because physical touch and emotional connectedness are human needs people will essentially risk their safety to meet those needs.
"(Biden’s) own chief of staff, Ron Klain, would say last year that it was pure luck, that they did ‘everything possible wrong’ (with H1N1). And we learned from that."
"There are estimates that by the end of the term of this administration, they will have lost more jobs than almost any other presidential administration."
That Rose Garden event — there's been a great deal of speculation about it — my wife Karen and I were there and honored to be there. Many of the people who were at that event, Susan, were actually tested for coronavirus, and it was an outdoor event, which all of our scientists r...
